“Arigato gozaimasu, Sir Saeki”
Mr. Saeki Keishiro dreamed of helping poor but deserving students pursue their dreams by providing educational opportunities through a Scholarship Grant. With his dream he founded the Saeki Keishiro Scholarhsip Foundation (SKSF), an organization committed to providing educational opportunities for poor students in Davao City. The association has been a beacon of hope for poor children in many years. It has made a difference in the lives of poor students in depressed areas in the city.
In SY 2007-2008, SKSF in partnership with Brokenshire College – Toril (BCT) opened its doors for students in Toril area to pursue their studies in a private Christian institution. Brokenshire College – Toril became one of the 4 partner schools of SKSF, accepting 10 scholars for admission. The other three schools are: Holy Cross of Mintal, University of Mindanao and Rizal Memorial Colleges. In SY 2009, three of the scholars of the SKSF graduated “With Honors” during the 5th Baccalaureatte and Commencement Exercises.
As an outstanding social entrepreneur Mr. Saeki Keishiro, transforms innovative ideas into generous and noble endeavors. With the SKSF, his sincerest desire and commitment to contribute towards positive social change and service is realized. Throug the years, of his dedicated and generous service he has produced many profesionals --- teachers, accountants, engineers, even architects who came from very poor families.
Mr. Saeki Keishiro, is one among the many who are taking the initiative to fill the gaps of the government in pursuing societal development through education. From his deeds, we can learn that transformative actions provide solutions to the world’s greatest needs.
“We are very thankful for Mr. Saeki Keishiro and the SKSF”, thus said by Mr. Henry Encabo, the school principal during the 5th Baccalaureatte and Commencement Exercises. No words of gratitude can probably match Mr. Saeki Keishiro’s generosity but perhaps that’s the best thing we can do.
So, “Arigato g0zaimasu, Sir Saeki!”
